I was quite the little workerbee today! I cleaned up our office as our new interim boss and the reeeally big boss will be here Monday. I took down all our sarcastic little workplace humor cartoons and I even did a Google for that "Hang in there baby" cat poster (but I wasn't sure if anybody here would get that fine, tongue-in-cheek humor). Apparently, Osama had one of those in his cave. Anyway, the first link I got was this blog! How funny!

I am really motivated to decorate my office now. What a geek I am... I want to cover a bulletin board with decorator fabric and make it look cool. Architecturally exciting.

My buddy Gil is giving me a ride home so I can take the spinning wheel home. I will show you pictures asap. Right. Like I have any idea how to assemble it. And then I totally need to find some forgiving and agreeable roving that will cooperate with me. I love the Copper Moose store on ebay and I am totally eyeing this stuff. How much do you need for a sweater? One pound? Two?

And I just heard there is a Critical Mass happening today... and I didn't ride! Aaargh! Now that would be fun!!! Note to Self: Always ride bike on Friday. Just in case.

My Spinning Wheel came! I had it sent to my work and our receptionist said I had a "humongous" box at the front. (It's not that big, really.) Apparently it comes apart. It's still in the box and I will have to take a cab home but tonight is the Wine & Knit party I want to go to as well. My hobbies are conflicting!

The massage class at SFSM was fun. I really want to do their program! My only reason for hesitation is that it made me sore in my arms and hands and I wonder if that will go away or if it will get worse the more I do it. Because I had tendinitis that lasted f o r e v e r and I never, ever want to deal with Worker's Comp again.

I knitted the sleevecap for Cheesylove last night so only one more sleeve to go. And then I'll have a new sweater! Just want I needed.

I haven't gone to Crunch (go to this site cause it's really funny) lately because the weather has been great and I was riding my bike to work instead. It is lots of scary, trafficy, hilly fun. It's about 3.5 miles downhill to work and it really wakes me up. When I go home, I go a different way to avoid the really steep hills but then I've had my workout for the day. It's fun because the people who ride kind of bunch up and then we have safety in numbers.

I had an excellent Memorial Day. I celebrated by watching hours of MTV, Discovery Channel, the Signs movie and My Big Fat Greek Wedding and going to the bead store. I contemplated getting some BBQ or Ben & Jerry's but settled for a Peet's mocha. Hmmmm *less calories* and more buzz. MTV caught me up on Jackass and Punk'd and yeah... there is not much to say about that other than it's fun to discuss it with the boys at work!

So here is what I finished!

(click me!)

And, here is some major progress on Cheesy (Classy) Love, along with a little necklace I made to go with it:

(click me, too!)

This is for Mr S who inquired about it last night. Take note.

The cats helped. I did not know this but apparently Taseti is crafty and likes beads:

And Sunshine found the yarn basket (finally!)

He tried to hide but not for long:

Enough already of the shameless cat pictures.

Urban Knitters met on Sunday at Urban Knitting Studio. We met some new knitters, had mimosas and discussed Extreme Makeover. J's mystery man came by to pick her up, but did not dare to enter the store (too girly, I guess). Helen also invented a Wine & Knit gathering, an excellent combination.

Tonight, I'm going to a free class at San Francisco School of Massage to help me decide if I want to go to school there. It really feels good to think about making this change. I'm not giving notice at my day job yet. But it feels good just to know there is something else I could be doing rather than stressing out over my co-workers and their deadlines and their "politics".

Well almost time go home!

I decided yesterday not to block the Lacy Cardie. The pattern makes it lie completely flat, it doens't curl up at the edges, and it measures up to the pattern measurements. So I could not think of a good reason to do it. I've been sewing her together during Harry Potter yesterday. I'm up to the sleeves, and then I can show you a new picture.

A while ago, Wendy had a contest where you could send in a helpful hint. I didn't send anything because I felt way too ignorant about knitting, but now I know! Always, always Yarn Forward & Slip your last stitch. It makes a selvedge and it's so much easier to sew together. I'm hating sewing the edges on the Lacy where I did not do this. It's total guess work as to where my needle should go.

This is how I'm doing my sleeves for CheesyLove as well and they should be a snap to sew together. And they are growing much faster than I thought, too.

This afternoon I'm meeting with my knit group (unless they all have family holiday obligations) at Urban Knitting and I'm planning to show how I made my stitchmarkers. So if you're in my neck of the woods, come on in! And I want some Koigu for my next socks...

Friday. I have a feeling I'll be able to spend too much time on the blogs today. Once your boss gives notice the pressure is completely off. There is nada in my email.

My former boyfriend (but current friend) M was in our office yesterday. I was very nervous about it - really, never date anybody at work, for you will have to deal with them after you break up. However, he was cool enough and we had a good time. We joked around (though he has gross sense of humor but what do you expect) and now he can go back to NYC and be copasetic with his new girlfriends (haha).

Cheesylove's torso is complete! Now on to the sleeves. (Oh, so boring.) I much prefer dreaming about new projects. Like the 2-color ribby cardie or new socks or anything Rowan, or that cool little tank from Vogue with the Chinese coins on it... I'm going to revise my In The Works & Dreams this weekend.

I'm bored. Obviously.

Turmoil, again. My boss has given notice (again) and the next few weeks should be interesting. It stressed me out significantly yesterday, but now I'll just see what happens. I keep thinking about becoming a massage therapist instead of, or in addition to this job. Maybe that's a good thing to keep in mind right now.

City Spinners was uneventful last night, because I was late due to a nap & phone call, and we had to leave earlier than usual. So I didn't get to try a wheel. My anticipation is growing! I tracked the package, but because we used NZ International Economy, I could only verify that it had in fact been shipped. I got no further info (not like UPS). Still pretty amazing that I could do that research right from my desk. So I'm being patient.

My Dad received his socks! And he said they fit perfectly. He's wondering why I purled the heel (now, how many men would even notice?). I did that because he stands a lot at his work and I thought it would be more comfortable. And he likes the colors & the Hershey's Almond Kisses, too. Happy me.

I did the race (ahem, half of it, anyway) and here is what I looked like after I got to the ocean.

Pretty happy!

Jane & I saw many people in crazy costumes, and a few without any costume at all, who we wished had covered up.

Cutest costume and funniest group costume (the Crab people):

And here I am with San Francisco's finest:

(mmmmmmmmmmmh...... boys with motorcycles!)

Oh right... this is a knitblog! I was obsessed with getting to the hearts on Cheesylove, and did them after I got home from the race. Here is a quickie picture I took this morning.

This sweater has such intense shaping! The pink yarn is kid mohair called GGH from Germany, and the black yarn is Patons Classic Wool.

I finished the knitting & weaving in of the ends on the Lacy Cardie as well. Now I need to clean off the futon in my sewing room so I can block it. Tomorrow.

Tonight is my Spinning group meeting. I wish I had that wheel already...

I'm resting up today for the Bay to Breakers. Even though the people at my work are old geezers, my friend & neighbor Jane is running with me. Go Jane!!! We are however cheating and only starting at my house. We live right in the middle of SF, and the race passes by 2 blocks from here. (Now, the true reason the good folks from the office are scared to run, are these people.) Yes, I will be wearing clothes.

I found this interesting site on Miss LJC's blog: Things My Girlfriend and I Have Argued About. Actually, it should be called "Why Stella Aint Never Gettin' Hitched Again". Also interesting to note that Stella is 100% German (though naturalized US citizen) and S, is Brit. Just like those 2 people.

I'm off to knit now. Bye.
